A Celebration of JoyVisual Merchandising, 2025

Products used — Christian Siriano’s Ooh La – perfume collection

A Celebration of Joy is a vibrant space blending Christian Dior’s elegance with Joan Miró’s surrealist artistry.

The pop-up's goal is to evoke nostalgia, playfulness, and joy, channeling the lighthearted moments of youth through Dior’s timeless style and Miró’s bold colors and graphic design style. The visitor’s experience is to feel a sense of freedom in expression as they are surrounded by sporadic placement of colors. The goal is for visitors to feel joyful as a result of the vibrant colors of the layout and overall visual merchandising — including selfie centers as this is the age of content creation and a good background + surrounding is high attraction.

Visitors get to walk away with post-able memories, quality products and a desire to stay tuned for the next pop-up!

We live in a world void of true joy. Joy can appear as small moments like eating ice cream in the middle of the night aft er brushing your teeth or wearing your favorite Dior statement earrings. All of these look like pops of color. This collection is designed for the youthful adult who reminisce on the days of old. The working woman who wants to giggle and watch cartoons from the mid–to– late 90s. This Dior and Joan Miró collaboration will bring you back to the times before the rush, before adulthood overshadowed joy with responsibilities. This collection is joy.

This editorial reflects the journey of teachers grappling with loss. Through the story of a model embodying a teacher, we see her shift from grief to empowerment. Inspired by heroic figures, she takes on the role of protector for her remaining students, transitioning from muted tones to vibrant colors that symbolize hope. This visual narrative reminds us that even in tough times, resilience and the drive to inspire can shine through.

The idea for this editorial came from a sad place of being a part time art instructor. Having lost a student to a medical situation, I had to navigate the focus of the remainder of my students from what took place.

What that looks like is transforming my mindset to that of a hero, saving them from despair or feeling that there is no purpose to anything if at the end of it all, our days are numbered. Avoiding this meant transforming how I thought and taught, to be there for them and shine light to great possibilities in their futures.

Suits + Giggles — Video Editorial, 2024

The fashion editorial video opens with a confident young Black woman in a minimal, abstract space symbolizing a corporate office. Dressed in sharp, tailored attire like a structured blazer, skirt suits, button down dresses, and understated jewelry, she exudes a professional image, yet hints of her playful, youthful personality. She appears every bit the young professional but subtly disrupts the polished image with her carefree energy and sense of humor.

Throughout the video, her playful nature shines in scenes where she interacts directly with the camera. These gestures draw the audience into her world, breaking the formality expected in a professional environment.

In other scenes, her personality continues to clash gently with the corporate environment. While in one shot, she doodles absentmindedly on a notepad, she might also blow a bubble gum. Subtle, warm lighting complements her upbeat demeanor, and an energetic soundtrack amplifies the sense of fun and freedom she brings into the workspace.

The video reaches its peak when, in a moment of relaxed honesty, she says, “It’s never that serious.” This short monologue captures her refreshing outlook to embrace life with a touch of humor and perspective, even in spaces that often feel rigid.

Stylist + Photographer — Lewis Derogene, @Phenomenalewis

Program — Adobe Lightroom and Adobe InDesign

For this project, I styled and photographed different products as mock ads for an existing brand, 10•Corso•Como. The objective of 10 Corso Como’s newsletter is to connect with driven, style-conscious professionals by showcasing a curated selection of high-quality business garments and accessories. Timed for the holiday season, the campaign highlights how 10 Corso Como’s pieces, such as dress pants, envelope clutch bags, turtlenecks, and boots, can seamlessly elevate workwear while transitioning to end-of-year celebrations. By offering a limited-time holiday discount, the newsletter seeks to inspire customers to refresh their professional wardrobe and position the brand as the ultimate destination for timeless, versatile business attire that embodies sophistication and confidence.

Through regal fashion styling, let’s challenge and combat the harmful stereotypes imposed on Black women.

This editorial touches on the breakthrough of a Black woman who is constantly bombarded by the belittlement of those who are not part of the same ethnic group. Those belittlements look like micro-aggression, harmful jokes of their hair, their skin tone, or calling them angry and loud. All of which are harmful to the mental being of a Black woman.

In light of this as a Black woman myself, I created this editorial as a love story and healing balm to all Black women that we are more than what others consider us to be. We are refined from agreeing with stereotypical labels and harmful biases.
