“Broken Wombmen” - April, 2016
Dimensions: 4’ x 3’
Medium: Canvas, paper, paint and rope.
This mixed media piece is a response to the new age media documentations of the oppression of black people by cops and Klux members. The text is in a sense the mindset of the black female losing the black male in this country.
"The men of our community delivered safely by the hands of God from our womb, our prize possession for our strength, cannot be terrorized, cannot be imprisoned, cannot be buried by you. We are weeping wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, eradicate our people from your sight NO MORE! We will end this madness in solidarity and force your corrupted eyes to open up to the truth that they are heirs to a Mighty King, inheriting their land with us queens."
